FOIL DISTRESS TUTORIAL #HEATPRESSHACK

Expand your t-shirt sales and target the female fan base with this killer hack. In this tutorial, we'll show you have to create a distressed foil ladies spirit wear shirt. All you need is our 15¢ one color custom heat transfers, a roll of foil, a heat press, and a 100% cotton t-shirt.

Step-by-Step

Step 1

Adjust your heat press to 325ºF. Apply your Athletic Formula Heat Transfer for 7 seconds using heavy pressure (9 on a Manual with a 0-9 Pressure readout or 60 PSI on a pneumatic machine). Peel the transfer hot (Immediately).

Step 2

Cut the foil to the size of the image you want to be solid foil. The foil will stick to any ink that it is touching.

Step 3

Use the foil (shiny side up) to cover the areas of your design that you desire to be foiled. Use the original heat transfer paper cover sheet to cover the rest of the design. Press for 7 seconds. Peel the transfer paper hot (immediately). Cold peel the foil (wait until it's room temperature).

Step 4

Crumple up the excess foil.

Step 5

Re-cover the press with the same transfer paper and press it for 7 seconds. Peel the transfer paper hot.

Step 6

Use the crumpled foil to carefully dab the parts of the design that you want to be distressed. Adjust the foil and repeats steps 5 & 6 until you get the desired results.

Step 7

Re-cover the press with the same transfer paper and press it for 7 seconds.

Step 8

Peel and deliver a one of a kind foil distress design to your customer.
